We play using the Federation of International Touch (FIT) ruleset - the same as used at the tournaments we play in.
If you’re familiar with rugby, a lot of the play will look vaguely similar. The biggest differences are:
- No tackling! Even the lightest touch is still a touch.
This is a sport of integrity so when you call touch you'll be believed.
- Offsides
The entire defense moves 7m back from the SPOT of the touch. Yup, the WHOLE defense has to get back 7m.
Note - the ball carrier ALSO has to drop the ball at the spot of the touch. Not overrunning takes some practice to remember.
- Dummy half
If you pick up the ball your only options are run or pass. YOU CAN'T SCORE! If you get touched or try to score it results in a turnover!
Below are a couple video breakdowns with more details.
The full ruleset can be found on the Federation of International Touch (FIT) website
